Frog Belly - Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon - 2009

2009

Winemaker: Bruce Dukes
Viticulturalist: Richard Wilson
Vineyard: Margaret River, Warner Glen Estate

Varietal: 80% Shiraz & 20% Cabernet Sauvignon
Alcohol: 14%
Cellaring: Drink now to 2015
Oak: French with a small percentage American for increased complexity

Colour: Saturated deep purple with an intense red hue.

Bouquet: High tones of fruits of the forrest with hints of allspice and clove.

Palate: Nicely textured and generous wine with a collage of dark berries, fruit cake and a dash of spice gently integrating
with firm tannins.

Winemaking: This wine is a blend of six different harvests over 2 weeks to guarantee optimum fruit quality and blended after
fermentation to a precise style. Oak treatment was for 9 months in predominately French oak with a hint of American to add
complexity to complement the fruit and tannins.

Vintage: The end of the 2009 season was a “weather gift” to Warner Glen Estate. We were blessed with an Indian Summer,
which rolled in after almost all whites were harvested and in production. This enable the viticulture team to allow for plenty of
hang time to ensure that each block of fruit to be harvested at their best with full ripeness and intensity.
