Pinot Gris - 2009
Winemakers Tasting Note
The fruit for this Lamont Pinot Gris was picked in perfect condition. Clean, intense deep coca cola coloured skin, healthy bunches and balanced berry development. The main flavor component for this wine is a wonderful flinty, mineral like character that melds into pear and Central Otago peaches. The wine was left on medium yeast lees for three months to build mouth feel, complexity and an ideal palate weight. Floral notes seduce and reward with a full and rich Pinot Gris that is wonderful to drink now or over the next few years.
