Pinot Gris - 2010
Hand harvested, whole bunch pressed, fermented in stainless steel at low temperatures to preserve fresh flavours. After ferment the wine was left on lees for 2 months giving mouth feel and complexity.
This wine is a classic example of Central Otago Pinot Gris. The bouquet consists of pungent pear, stone fruit, white peach and citrus notes. After a second look, the fruit gives way to an array of complex perfumed layers including jasmine, brown spice, ginger and lifted floral notes.
Lamont 2010 Pinot Gris has an intriguing palate that keeps you reaching for the glass. The wine has a rich oily mouth feel. In addition to this, the wine has minerality, which enhances the wine’s longevity in the mouth and lively acidity that is perfectly balanced with natural sweetness. The palate is largely dominated by fresh fruit particularly white peach and pear. In time, this wine will continue to increase in complexity.
