SEASONAL NOTES

Another blistering year, once again, with the Black Saturday fires and heat wave conditions. The slight difference was this was one month earlier than 2008 and the impact on fruit development was not as extreme. The result was an unexpected surprise with flavour development and balance being exceptional - considering.

WINE STYLE

Continuing our "never the same way"system of making Rosé this wine was created froma small patch of Cabernet Sauvignon and a row of Viognier. Crushed and lightly pressed to extract a minimum of colour and importantly a trace of tannin for dryness and grip on the finish, this allows the fruit notes to shine without the need to sweeten the finish as many commercial pinkies do.

The addition of Viognier is interesting in its action of mellowing the flavours - from herbal to stone fruit which creates a complex profile to the bouquet and the palate.

TASTING NOTES

Sight - Pale salmon pink bright and orange shards through the centre showing brilliance and clarity, vanishing to a pale pink limpid rim.

Bouquet - A lifted bouquet of nectarine and red currant notes. The freshness and a rose hip leaf complexity, provides a counter point to the fruit notes.

Palate - A fine dry palate of fresh red fruits and acidity with a subtle grip of tannin. Spice and herbal notes cutting the finish.
