Knots & The Bridge - Bendigo/Heathcote, VIC
Lindsay Ross has been involved in the Bendigo wine industry for over 20 years, working as senior winemaker at Balgownie prior to setting up his own label Knots, with partner Noeline.
Knots are a series of wines sourced from old vines in the Bendigo district, with exceptional vineyard sites and passionate growers. The wines display intense varietal characters with balance, complexity and subtle oak integration.
Lindsay has his own vineyard in Heathcote – where his flagship wine ‘The Bridge’ is made. Lindsay had to build a bridge to access the property, so the name seemed appropriate. Winemaking practices are as close to ‘biodynamic’ as possible, without waving the flag!
Two further vineyards are used to source Bendigo fruit for the ‘Knots’ labelled wines. Cropping is done at very low yields, and the growers work tirelessly in the vineyard to ensure the highest quality of fruit.
