Tasting Note:
VARIETAL: 100% McLaren Vale fruit – Estate grown
COLOUR: Brilliant deep straw with green hues.
AROMA: An abundance of fresh lemon & lime fruit aromas with slight hint of dried apricots in the background.
PALATE: A sophisticated flavour profile of fresh citrus in the foreground, leading to slightly more developed honey-like characters with hints of vanillin oak in the mid palate which then transpose into very long lasting flavours of dried apricot and pears.

| Vineyard site | The top of the north side hills of McLaren Vale. Short rows running down from the top of the ridge. The profile is very deep sand. The site is protected from hot north winds by an old pine forest capping the hill. |
| Planted | 1996. 3 acres on rootstocks to help vine vigour and for protection from nematodes. |
| Trellis | Single cordon with a catching wire to increase the canopy’s fruit shadingas the variety is susceptible to sunburn. |
| Irrigation | Drip @ 12 litres a vine every 3 days. |
| Season | Reasonable rain fall in winter/spring gave the vines a good start but this was then set back by extreme heat for a week of November resulting in reduced flowering. Summer was warm & dry. |
| Harvest | One of the earliest & shortest season experienced in 20 years. Picked Feb 12, 13.9 Beaume, 2.7 tonnes to the acre. |
| Winemaking | The fruit was put through a basket press giving about 2 hours of skin contact. The juice was then fermented in closed 1200 litre temperature controlled tanks using 2 different yeasts aimed at enhancing the natural fragrance of this variety. |
| Bottled | 19 October 2010 Alc. 13.8 pH 3.36 TA 5.47 |
