What’s hot, getting recognition and selling really well!

Published: 14/07/2010

So you want a recommendation on something that you will enjoy, impress others or present as a gift . . . keep reading. Over the past few months it has almost become a full time job keeping up with the reviews and awards our wineries are receiving. The accolades and recognition is testament to the hard work that has been going on behind the scenes for some time - years and in some cases decades.

We have the pleasure of announcing in no certain order some of the results below:

Winewise Small Vigneron Awards (just announced)

Judging for the 2010 Winewise Small Vigneron Awards was held in Canberra on 1-3 July 2010. The 2010 Small Vigneron Awards were limited to producers who crushed 250 tonnes or less for their own label in the 2010 vintage. Judging by one of Australia's most experienced panels was undertaken according to the highest Australian show standards. Gold, Silver and Bronze awards were allocated and Trophies awarded to the best varietals and blends.

A record number of entries were submitted this year, in excess of 1500, which meant judging by five panels. The highest judging standards were applied and whilst this meant that the percentage of gold medal winners were down on last year's Awards, medal winners in this show will stand scrutiny anywhere. Results from our wineries included:

Coonawarra

  • Patrick of Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 - Silver, 52.5 points

If you are tempted to purchase a bottle or two or even a mixed case, see one of our stockists who would be more than happy to assist you.

Over the next few months we will have all of our wineries visiting Melbourne to host events, lunches and dinners. So keep an eye on our website where we will announce these events, should you wish to join us for what will be a fast, fun and furious lead up to spring.

Cheers Sarah
