Tasting Lounge opens at La Veranda @ Domaine Georges Michel Winery in Marlborough

Owner Georges Michel, had this to say upon the opening of the tasting lounge:

La Veranda “A taste of France among the vines”

"Bonjour,

We have much pleasure in announcing the opening of our Tasting Lounge at La Veranda. Our resident host will be Rudy Schuil.

As from November the 3rd, we are introducing a new and unique concept of wine tasting to match with French degustation plates in the comfort of our stunning vineyard venue.

Visitors to the wine estate will be able to experience “a Taste of France among the vines“ from 11am to 4.30pm from Tuesdays to Sundays. We are offering a selection of wine tasting flights. Each flight will feature four different Georges Michel Estate wines to match with a selection of French gourmet tasting plates.

For example, our “Golden Mile” flight featuring our Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Rose, could be matched with a plate of imported French cheeses or a selection of French “charcuterie” (cold cured French country ham , dry sausage and a homemade paté pot).

Wine and food tasting selections will be charged together at set prices ranging from $25 to $45 per person, depending on the selection made.

If you wish to book large groups of guests, we would be more than happy to negotiate a special “per person” package for you including a complimentary plate for your tour guide or driver.

Guests will be able to purchase an additional full glass of any wine of their choice and subsequent bottle purchases would qualify for an automatic 10% discount at our adjoining cellar door.
