This was the fourth wine dinner held in-house at Eagle Bar, Eaglemont and as per previous events there was a waiting list for guests hoping to take part in the fun.

It was the first time chef John Addis catered for the event, and he excelled with each course. The food and wine pairings were spot on and very well received by all the guests. The menu went something like this:

Starter:
2007 Rose Lashing Rosé
Tian of Smoked Trout
served with Tomato & Lime infused Mayonnaise

Entrée:
2006 Carrick Bend Chardonnay
Moroccan Spiced Chicken
resting on Rocket & Mango Salad
finished with Red Capsicum Coulis

Main:
2003 Larks Head Cabernet Merlot Franc
Mystery Wine - 2005 Shiraz Sangiovese
Rack of Lamb
presented with Minted Pea Mash
accompanied by Hollandaise Sauce

Conclude:
2004 The Bridge Shurans Lane Shiraz
A selection of Barossa Cheese

Lindsay Ross (winemaker for Knots Wines in Bendigo) arranged for some fresh Shiraz grapes to serve double up as a table decoration and accompaniment to the cheese board!

To add to the evening local resident Tom Sweeney recited in full “Clancy of the Overflow’ by Banjo Paterson which was magnificent to hear. In return, the winemaker himself shared some poetry with ‘Mangrove Jack’ a poem he wrote whilst travelling down the Hawkesbury River a year or two ago.

All in all it was a night not to forget, and I was grateful to have shared such an enjoyable evening with clients, friends and strangers alike.

Thank you to the Delaney family for making this night happen!
