This venue is always busy regardless of the time of day or month. In summer the outside space is very popular, however as I discovered recently the same space is still popular in cooler months (thanks to gas heaters above the tables).

I have dined at Blue Tongue several times before (both lunch and dinner) and on this occasion I had made a dinner reservation with clients to showcase the Hastwell & Lightfoot range of wines from McLaren Vale. I chose this venue because the menu offers a good selection of entrees and mains, sizes are generous (in fact very generous) and everything is well priced. None of my party left disappointed.

For my entrée I selected the Smoked Tasmanian trout, kipfler potato and avocado salad with horse radish mayonnaise. The flavours were great and the portion big enough to suffice as a main, if one was not overly hungry.

My main consisted of the slow roast chicken & wild mushroom risotto with spinach puree & Persian feta. The portion was more than I could conquer which was a shame because I really enjoyed the dish.

Our water glasses were topped up on a regular basis and additional wine glasses provided with friendly professionalism. Blue Tongue is definitely a reliable venue for food, drinks or both and I would advise booking due to its popularity.

I would like to thank the manager Shaun Wilson for providing a great venue to conduct business and enjoy a night out dining!
